Phoenix Suns Close to Trading Marion for Shaq.

Please, can SOMEONE with some SENSE intervene in the Suns front office? This would be a ridiculous trade for the Suns. Shaq is old, injury prone and even worse, too slow and lumbering for the Suns running style. Not to mention, in the midst of his worst season ever. I just don't see him shaking up anything. The Heat would be getting rid of some dead and expensive meat and gaining a still viable, exciting player in Shawn Marion. Sure, he has an attitude problem, but this is the NBA, after all. This trade is going to make me SO cranky. What a bummer. Damn you, Steve Kerr, after all the loyalty I've given to you? Even when you were a Bull??

In other news, I took my exam for work on Monday, and am pretty confident I did well. If I passed, I'll get a confirmation next month and it will likely take another month before I am placed on an eligibility list. Oh, civil service, you are so wondrous. STILL, it could be promotion time in just a few months. And that's exciting!

Also, I voted yesterday! It went smoothly other than the poll workers loudly yelling between each other that I needed a DEMOCRAT ballot! And that DEMOCRATS were supposed to vote over there, "WHERE IT SAYS DEMOCRAT." Because, I am a Democrat, after all, and apparently everyone in the room needed to know that. I really hated being disillusioned so early in the process but I did some reading beforehand and then voted for my gut choice. It can't get much WORSE, right?

"Well, now that I've won re-election, I could give a flying fig that half of you don't want this war."

I mean, isn't that basically what he's saying here?? And how convenient is it that he is pushing this while Arafat is in a coma?

And to be honest here, I will be posting a heck of a lot more of stuff like this as the administration goes on. This administration is like little kids in a big store - ya gotta keep an eye on them. If you hate this stuff, feel free to skip.

I've been waiting for this day for four years and it is finally here! As someone who has been opposed to Bush the entire time he's been in office, I can't wait to use my vote. I'd go vote the second the polls open here, (8 am) but I'm happier at my job knowing I'm out at 3pm. I'm going straight to the conservative church that IS my polling place the second it's Yabba Dabba Doo Time.

I told Art that I was sure that America would do what's right for this country and he laughed at me. How did I marry such a cynic?

Go JFK, Go.

Also - Happiest of Birthdays [info]keever, with all the Red Sox joy going on you've been a topic of conversation for me the past week or so. "My LJ friend, [info]keever, went to the parade and everything!" You'd think I didn't have a close friend already living in Boston or something. hah. Anyway, enjoy it and good luck on the novel.
