I can't believe it but Flanagan actually called me the other night to offer me a table for Jon Brion's 12/9 show. I was trying to get in for the 12/2 show for singlestringwiz's birthday. I haven't been able to get a table in forever. Last time I had to wait for a seat at the bar and they basically ignored my late September begging for a November table. Another reason to regret his working with Kanye West. sweetcynic23, I ripped the album for you and will send it tonight while we watch Veronica Mars.

2stars4arms reminded me to squee with delight because Fiona Apple and the aforementioned Jon Brion are working on releasing the version of Extraordinary Machine that Brion produced. The article (I'm too lazy to link it this morning) mentions that the version that leaked to the internet was not ready and that Jon and Fiona wanted the complete version available to us diehards. This thrills me for so many reasons, but mainly for this one: the strings will return!! Jon + Fiona 4 ever!

My K, who rocks in so many ways, sent me word today that David Garza is opening up for Fiona on this tour! I am so excited! I love David! This will be great exposure for him. Anyone on my friends list who has tickets for this tour, I urge you to get there early to see David's set. He has great songs, a great voice, he dresses like a bum and he tells jokes that only I laugh at.

Okay, nose is officially to the grindstone. I need to power through a ton of work today so I can fully enjoy the ass-slapping tonight! EDIT: I just realized how unbelievably dirty that sounds. I meant on Veronica Mars, I swear. God, how embarrassing.

--This is me reminding my fellow Californians to vote today. I don't know how you feel about the millions of dollars wasted on this special election that could have gone to education (oops, my true feelings showed up!) but I think we're going to have a pretty low turn-out, particularly if it rains like the weird weather lady with the bad hair on NBC is threatening.

--I finally saw the Albertson's commercial featuring Jason Dohring last night thanks to sweetcynic23 and then proceeded to freak out on IM to my friend K. Thank goodness she doesn't judge me...too much. The commercial is saved on my TiVo now for convenient re-watching.

--A work rant was going to go here but I decided to spare you. I'm guessing it will show up later though.

--Caught up with Grey's Anatomy last night and was underwhelmed. Meh. I think the high drama of the last few eps made this one seem a little lackluster. Plus I thought the whole male pregnancy thing was silly and not just a little gross. Also, Burke better back off because George is MY guy. ;)

Forgive me for the late news but I just got off a plane from paradise 10 hours ago. We came home to find that our upstairs balcony leaked rain water into our bedroom and downstairs dining area. We haven't had a chance to bring over my bed so the only thing that we have to sleep on is currently soaked! Yay! We're married adults! Where's my mommy?

ANYWAYS, none of that matters now because Chris Rock is hosting the Oscars. Awesome! Can you imagine him sticking it to Jack Nicholson in the front row? I can't wait.

Also, today is the last day to register to vote in California. GO! Register! Now! And then Get Off the Internet and Vote.

I'll hopefully be catching up with all my LJ pals tonight! How 'bout them Sox, keever?

Well, even though last week he said it was bad bad bad, Gov. Arnie has changed his mind re: same-sex marriage, saying, "It's okay with me." Hmmm...what will he say NEXT week?

So it will be Kerry. I'm even less excited about this than I was about Gore in 2000 but I'll support him. I'd support a rutabaga at this point.
