The frat boy-esque radio show I listen to on my way in to work had an interesting topic this morning, interracial marriage and children. As a mutt who still managed to marry outside her race, I was interested! The guest was Alon Ziv, author of a book called Breeding Between the Lines: Why Interracial Children are Healthier and More Attractive. His theory is that since the genetic make-up of interracial couples are so diverse, their offspring are more likely to be more attractive, more intelligent and less prone to genetic disorders than offspring from two parents of the same ethnic heritage. Hey, sounds good! His theory doesn't just talk about unions between black/white, hispanic/asian but the less "controversial" pairings of Italian/German (or, people seen as just "white" here in the States).

I think anything that claims that any future children I may (but probably will not) have are genetically superior works for me and my god complex, but here's the website if you want to know more about the book: Breeding Between the Lines. I'm going to pick it up and actually read it soon.

Did you know System of a Down's lead singer Serj Tankian writes poetry? And is PUBLISHED?

We'll have to do a side by side comparison between this and Billy Corgan's book, Blinking With Fists.

Rainy Day Come Again

I didn't have time for breakfast this morning because I was getting some stuff ready for the carpet cleaning guys and fooling around on the internet. When lunch time came around I was STARVING. I decided to go to Subway and have a sandwich and maybe some of their super good Broccoli Cheese soup. I love that soup, especially when it's cold outside, it's so rich and yummy.

I ordered a tuna on wheat instead of my normal Subway Club and the soup of my dreams. Then the girl behind the counter mentioned that if I bought a soda, my soup would be free. !!! "Well, okay then!" was my overjoyed answer. It's a new promotion over there to make up for the demise of the much beloved Sub Club cards/stamps. If it's raining and you buy a 6in. sub and a soda, you can get another sandwich or a soup for free! Free! I love yummy free soup! I have never been so excited about the rain here ever!

Anyways, speaking of rain and food, am I the only one who read this book as a child? Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. I mentioned the little burg of Chewandswallow to Art last week and he had never heard of it! Kesha hadn't either! I have such fond memories of reading this book, I can't believe that not every little kid got to experience the joy of a town where it rains food.

And that's my Monday.
