More Than a Feeling

Because I'm an assmunch, I've sat on this info for a month or so but here we go:

Fiona Apple will headline a tour this summer with some dates featuring Damien Rice. David Garza (YAY!) will support.

U.S. Tour Dates under cut )

I haven't wanted to tour this badly since the Rufus' Poses tour. Too bad I'm broke, have a million other plans that need my attention and am so low on vacation time it's frightening. Not to mention, I am 100 years old. I still will probably try to do at least three of these though. Damn Vegas for being on a weeknight!

Speaking of my age, we got the information for Art's 10 year high school reunion and knew right away we probably wouldn't go. Right there on the front of the bulletin: No-host bar. Sure, like we're going to spend a night with those people and NOT have comped drinks? Get out of here.

Okay, those of you who are also on [info]singlestringwiz's friends list knew this was coming. I totally caved when I found out how easy it is to stalk people. All those people from my HS? Still idiots! My nieces and nephews? Crazy hyper teen-agers with awful pages!

Add me and give me something to look at. Or give me a minute and I'll use my superior stalking skills to find YOU. *insert evil laugh here*

As C said in an e-mail yesterday, "What an internet sluuuuuut!"

Independence Day

Art's asleep and I've been hanging out at the computer. Gatsby is sleeping too, but that's usual for him. We decided to declare our own independence from responsibilities today. I'm enjoying the fact that I'm not at work (first time in a few years) a little too much.

My family has a big get together in fancy Mission Viejo every year but I am still not attending family functions. Not for any huge reason other than I'm totally sick of them. We're still not sure what Art's parents are up to. So no family stuff today! I like that kind of independence.

Our city has a huge Stars Hollow-esque festival going on, and we were going to hit the parade but then got really lazy and decided not to. It's not too late to go so maybe later on we'll venture out and see what the town has cooked up. For the most liberal city in the 909, I'm kind of curious to see what goes on out there! Until Art wakes though, I might go immerse myself in old Gilmore Girls.

I ended up cooking a big meal for our lunch, it was actually really fun. I made my famous (at least in this house) taco bake, spanish rice, and a pasta salad. For dessert (when we get to it) there will be stars and stripes cupcakes. We've been eating all day long and enjoying the silence.

Lazy, full of food, a/c cranking kind of a day. This is a summer I can get behind.
