My new favorite website: PassiveAgressiveNotes.com. A week or so ago, I came across the site and lost a ton of time going through all the archives. People are so petty!
Now that American Idol is done for the year, it's time for the summer fun of So You Think You Can Dance. I was really excited for the show to come back and set my recording on my DVR for the show nearly two weeks ago. But, as this crappy (non-TiVo) DVR is wont to do, it "forgot." So I missed the first 25 minutes of the show and WAS SO MAD. Anyways...
First thing - WHY did they have to show Dominic on my television again? I had just told
superbonbon4 earlier in the day that he was my most hated former contestant and BAM! there he is. EW. I object, SYTYCD, do not do that again.
It was an okay episode. It's embarrassing to admit, but I got a kick out of seeing Gold Inferno again. He cracked me up during last year's auditions and it got me again. The "jump style" - it's so innovative! Hahahah. No one really jumped out at me except for Asuka, the ballroom dancer who I dubbed Asian Ellen Page and of course that insane popper from the end of the episode, Robert. Oh, and I also liked the one black guy who danced to that Jill Scott spoken word. I was glad to see he passed the choreography round. Still, it was enough to keep me excited about the show. Looking forward to next week!
Oh, and I did the handwriting meme that's been going around.

And the going blind girl (which must make me hard-hearted but come on. This was nothing but a try to pull on your heartstrings moment to air her audition)
I think I fell asleep before Dominic which yea. One of my most hated top twenty performers too.
Were you asleep before that girl they went wild over Kherington? It felt like a Jessi situation all over again. The judges fell all over themselves talking about her "it factor," and I just did not see it. Oh wait, if you didn't see Dom then yes, because Dom was drooling all over her during the audition.
No one dances in tighty whiteys. I mean what was the point of even asking him what he was doing? There was no point in that other than - hey I'm on tv in my underwear and everyone is looking at my package. And the guy did a decent turn at one point which showed me he has actually taken dance classes. Just an another attention whore I guess.
Oh well. I just accept that the auditions are going to be fairly terrible. But usually you can spot most of the top 20 here. They sure didn't show much in LA - the ballroom girl and some of the boys I guess.
I remember season 2 - the first one I watched and it was easy to pick out Benji and Travis and Donyelle and Heidi as being people that were going to stick around. Last year it was like they were hiding people. Shawna? Shawna who?
I was never a big Travis fan (SORRY!) and I have to say, he is way overdue for updating his look. He's been wearing that ridiculous hair for too long. Does he have no one who cares about him?

2. Loved the popper at the end who looks a little like Shawn did in high school
3. Mia Michaels is the crazy. And it was adorable when she got all tangled up on "sexcessful" with that gross Italian dude!
Mia IS crazy. When she started bawling over the blind girl I was totally uncomfortable. And who made her that hat?? It was too big for her insane head.
Maybe it was like this last year but I thought there were more good stories during the audition.
And that Kherington (seriously?) looks SO familiar. I swear I've seen her on another show.
See, I don't hate Dom at all (the only person I didn't like in the top ten was Lauren) but why did spend so much time showing him and BARELY ANY HOK? HOK was right there, too!
Umm... did you hear that Lacey is now dating David Cook? That girl...
I heard that, but I thought she was just a family friend? I'm so out of the loop, I thought she was still dating Hok.
Oh, who knows if they are actually dating, but that would be kind of cute. I feel like they are a good match. (Because I know them oh-so-well)
I'm really disappointed they didn't talk with him at all. And I'm kind of sad that they didn't say anything about Sabre. I think Benji was on the first auditions show last year, but maybe it was a later episode in another city. Oh well, it was only the first show. I think I'm as excited about seeing last year's contestants again as I am about a new season.
I don't know much about David Cook, other than liking him more than the 12-year-old "Oh, gosh!" kid. But they could be cute. I'm kind of sad she's not with Hok anymore though. I was ready to register them at Crate & Barrel last year when I found out they were dating.
I thought they were super cute too. David Cook is wicked cute though, so I can't be too bummed for her.
But seriously Susan, I'm in a desperate way. My standards now: Did you graduate high school? Have you been arrested in 5 years? Are you married? Are you Mormon? AWESOME!
I need to get out. Heeeelp me!
I'm so glad SYTYCD is back - the three you mentioned were the standouts for me too. You know I must really be getting old because when I see crazy popping like that last guy I can't help but wonder what kind of pain he's going to be in down the line! But he was AMAZING! These audition shows aren't my favorite. I have to fast forward through the oddballs - their strangeness creeps me out!
I liked Twitch, too, I remember, in addition to Asuka, Robert, and spoken word guy, but none of them leaped out at me as an instant fave. I hope for more in the coming weeks.
I liked seeing Travis again! I forgot that you didn't really care for Travis. BOOOOO-urns, Susan!
It just happens when you own a bajillion post-its.
